Understanding Kenya's Seasons
Kenya experiences two rainy seasons and two dry seasons, each offering unique safari experiences.
January - February: Hot and Dry
Excellent for wildlife viewing as animals concentrate around water sources. Perfect for photography with clear skies.
March - May: Long Rains
Lush green landscapes and fewer tourists. Migratory birds present. Some camps offer reduced rates.
June - October: Cool and Dry
Peak safari season. Great Migration river crossings (July-October). Best time for most visitors.
November - December: Short Rains
Brief afternoon showers. Return of migratory birds. Lower prices and fewer crowds.
