Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Activity: Scenic Drive & Afternoon Game Drive
Your driver-guide picks you up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA around 7:00 AM. You'll drive south through Kajiado County, passing traditional Maasai homesteads and open savannah plains—a genuine taste of rural Kenya. Short stops for refreshments and photos keep the journey relaxed. Arrive at the Amboseli area around midday, check into your budget tented camp or lodge, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon (around 3:00-4:00 PM), head into Amboseli National Park for your first thrilling game drive. Expect to see elephant family groups, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and buffalo against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Exploration of Amboseli

Activity: Sunrise Game Drive & Afternoon Game Drive
Start early (around 6:00 AM) with a sunrise game drive—the best time for cooler temperatures, active predators, and clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build. Return to camp for breakfast and rest during the heat of the day. After lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive exploring different park areas, including the swamp systems where hippos, elephants, and buffalo congregate. Visit Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park's diverse landscapes. This full day of game drives maximizes your wildlife value, increasing chances of seeing lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and over 400 bird species including flamingos, pelicans, and crowned cranes.

Day 3: Amboseli to Nairobi

Activity: Morning Game Drive & Return Journey

Return to camp for breakfast, check out, and begin the scenic drive back to Nairobi, arriving by mid-afternoon. You'll be dropped off at your hotel or JKIA, marking the end of your affordable Amboseli adventure.

Wonderful safari experience overall. The guide was exceptional, and we had amazing wildlife sightings including a cheetah kill. Only giving 4 stars because the road to the camp was quite bumpy, but that's part of the adventure! Would definitely recommend Puercoespin Safaris.

Absolutely incredible experience! The Masai Mara exceeded all expectations. Our guide Steve was knowledgeable and knew exactly where to find the wildlife. We witnessed three river crossings in one day! The luxury camp was stunning, and the staff treated us like royalty. This was truly a life-changing adventure.
